Good Foods for Skin

Vitamin C-Rich Foods

Vitamin C is good for you, even if you’re not fighting off a cold (though why not prevent one from coming on?). This powerful vitamin can also help your skin fight off damage from the sun, and help boost collagen and elastin production. Red bell peppers, brussel sprouts, and oranges are all rich in Vitamin C, for instance, so adding more into your diet might mean more radiant skin later on!

Green Tea

Green Tea is one of those things we’ve heard about being great for skin over years and years. It’s packed full of antioxidants that help prevent DNA damage and curb inflammation. Consider switching out your morning coffee for a cup of this green powerhouse for a month or two, and see if your complexion improves.

Essential Fatty Acids

Foods with essential fatty acids can help keep our skin’s natural barrier function strong, which can prevent blemishes and overly dry skin. Add in some essentially fatty acids to your diet by consuming more olive oil, flax seeds, and walnuts. Cold-water fish (like salmon) can also be a great boost for your skin.

Changing your diet is a great way to improve the health of your skin, though it may take a while before you see results. If you’re looking for a boost of better and brighter skin now, give us a call at (732) 888-8255 to schedule a consultation.
