Medical Marijuana FAQs
- Posted on: Dec 30 2018
We’ve come so far from the visuals of rappers smoking in music videos, selling us ideas of being cool and breaking the law. And who would have thought that those rappers were really experimenting with drugs that have shown to have such positive effects in people? What once was cool is quickly becoming just as normalized as taking an Advil for a headache. Except for one big thing: marijuana has been linked to helping people with much bigger problems than headaches.
With Medical Marijuana picking up steam here in the United States, we get a lot of questions about how useful it really is. And sometimes people are still concerns about the danger of marijuana. Unfortunately, marijuana is very misunderstood, and it can be far more helpful than harmful. Get ready to scrap those ideas about “reefer madness” and keep reading to learn about this amazing plant.
Can you overdose on marijuana?
Prescription painkillers cause all sorts of problems, and the opioid epidemic shows how dangerous some of the legal drugs on the market can be. Thankfully, marijuana does not pose the same addictive or dangerous qualities that current drugs do.
For example, you cannot overdose on marijuana in plant form. Essentially, to overdose on marijuana, you would need to consume quite a large amount. This amount is very hard to consume, since many people just fall asleep when they smoke or ingest too much. If you are using medical marijuana through a food source or “edible,” then it’s important to follow the instructions on the label, as the marijuana may take a while to take effect.
