Flabby abs and flat glutes are a thing of the past, thanks to a new procedure called Emsculpt®. Magdy Nasra, MD, PC, offers Emsculpt, the only treatment available that sculpts your body by toning existing muscles, to patients at his practice in Holmdel, New Jersey.
What is Emsculpt?
Emsculpt is the only FDA-cleared body contouring treatment that destroys fat cells and builds muscle around your abs at the same time. While the procedure is designed to flatten your stomach and tone muscles around your abs, Emsculpt also offers a noninvasive buttock toning procedure that builds the muscles in your glutes for a perkier bottom.
Am I a Good candidate For emsculpt?
As long as you are healthy, you are likely a good candidate for Emsculpt. However, the treatment works best on fit individuals with stubborn belly fat that won’t budge or buttocks that could use a lift. If you are overweight, you won’t see dramatic results.
What Are the Benefits of Emsculpt?
Emsculpt has many benefits including the following:
- Sculpting the abdomen
- Toning the buttocks
- No Downtime
- Builds more muscle mass
- Reduces fat
- It’s safe and FDA cleared
Once you decide to try the Emsculpt treatment, Dr. Nasra straps the device over your abdomen or buttocks and turns up the power. Gradually, Dr. Nasra will increase the power to maximize your muscle-building benefits without causing damage to your abdominal muscles or buttocks.
How does Emsculpt work?
The very first treatment of its kind, Emsculpt uses HIFEM® (High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic) technology to activate supramaximal contractions, which are extremely powerful muscle contractions you can’t achieve through the voluntary muscle contractions you experience when working out.
When you exercise — squats, crunches, lunges, etc.— you use about 50% of that particular muscle group with each move. With Emsculpt, those muscles are activated 100% about 20,000 times throughout your session.
These intense muscle contractions force the fatty acids in your muscle cells to seep out, overwhelm the fat cells in your body, and ultimately die. Meanwhile, your muscles strengthen at a cellular level, building muscle while also breaking down fat in your body.
When used on your stomach, the Emsculpt device’s high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy will induce pulses throughout your entire abdomen, from your rib cage down to your groin area.
How Long Does An Emsculpt Treatment Take?
The procedure itself takes just 30 minutes per session — perfect for your lunch break.
How Many Emsculpt sessions are needed?
You need four sessions, spaced about 2-3 days apart, to achieve the results you want.
What Does Emsculpt Feel Like?
Most patients describe the Emsculpt process as a series of very intense vibrations around the abdomen or glutes. It may feel like your body is going through an extreme workout — minus the sweat and heavy breathing.
Is Emsculpt Painful?
While the procedure itself is relatively painless, the contractions, which can feel uncomfortable at times, should never be painful or unendurable.
